Private Consultations

August 13th, 2011

a)   Medicare Rebates – Are you eligible?

The Australian government extended Medicare to cover services by qualified Mental Health social workers, under the BETTER ACCESS scheme.

Your General Practitioner can create a mental health care plan and refer you for treatment of mental health related matters (eg depression, anxiety etc.) and Medicare contributes to the cost as it does for doctor’s consultations. There still may be a gap to pay.

If the GP decides to refer, the care plan must mention my name, “Tom Blackford” & my profession, “Mental Health Social Worker.” It must state a mental health diagnosis and you must bring the care plan to the first visit. Most GPs are familiar with this process.

b)   Contact me. I will ask some questions about what the problem is, what result you want, and encourage you to come with someone important to you (spouse, partner, parent, friend.)

  1. Mobile – 0402 550 751
  2. Email – tblack01@gmail.com

Expectations – I have 25 years experience, and believe you will see some change in 1 – 4 sessions. It is often useful to come with someone for support, and they can add their perspective.

    THINK DIFFERENTLY

    .

PROBLEMS PERSIST BECAUSE THE SAME OLD THINKING IS USED
    .
    SOLUTIONS REQUIRE NEW THINKING
